This publication forms part of the “Local Knowledge in Marine Spatial Planning, Green Transition and Digital Transformation” project (2024–2026), funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers through the AG-Fisk working group. The project assesses how Indigenous and local knowledge and data are currently included in marine spatial planning and management processes across the North Atlantic region, identifying key challenges and opportunities. It further examines the role of digital tools and data in shaping these processes, including how they influence process design, integration of diverse knowledge and decision-making. Building on this, the project explores how these processes can be developed in more equitable and just ways in the context of increasing digitalisation, while also aiming to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange across the region.
